Clinton County, Ohio; Our United Way.

The United Way of Clinton County is a GIVERS organization. It is the result of the untiring efforts of Clinton County civic leaders and concerned citizens to bring about a uniform way to provide for voluntary human services.

Volunteerism exists because people feel that it is of importance to show their concern for the well-being of their community. Your United Way was formed to bridge the gap between the individual and his community.

Your United Way becomes the means through which these human services are maintained, expanded and improved. Demands for services are ever-changing. A major responsibility of your United Way is to keep pace with the changes taking place in our county, and respond to these changes in a positive manner. We want to be prepared to fund the programs needed by our growing and changing commUNITY.

Your United Way is known as a fund-raiser in Clinton County. But in addition to a combined campaign for funds, your United Way has the fiscal responsibility for directing funds raised to the agencies that we support. This is accomplished by our Finance/Budget Committee. This committee has worked very hard this year to re-define our funding criteria to be more clear and concise for a higher level of accountability. This will enable us to be the best stewards possible, of your gifts, when deciding where the money goes. This committee examines allocations, expenditures, and goals for all applicant programs/agencies. Through the allocation process, these volunteers can begin to formulate plans to best meet the needs presented to United Way of Clinton County.

Your United Way is striving to grow and change to be more efficient, improving availability of needed services for all citizens of Clinton County, through better utilization of volunteer time and talents, and initiating higher levels of accountability with participating agencies. Together WE can make Clinton County a better place to live!!
