Auction or garage sale
Employees donate items to be auctioned.  Donate any leftovers to an agency.

Balloon, candy or flower grams
Sell balloons, candy or flowers.  This is a great way to brighten your co-worker's days.

Bake sale
Employees donate goodies.  Cut cakes and pies into individual pieces to sell.   (If donations are placed in plastic bags in advance, it will save you time!)


Book or plant sale
Have employees donate used books and resell them.  Or sell plants grown by a co-worker.

Brown bag lunch and learn
Use agency speakers, health screenings and demonstrations to educate employees during lunch.  Employees provide their own lunch.

Casual day
Let employees purchase the chance to go casual one day, or use it as a reward for people who turn in their pledge cards on time.  A United Way pin can be worn for identification.

Community Care Week projects
This is a week of volunteer projects at United Way agencies.  Involuve your employees in one and let them see the benefits of volunteering while getting a first-hand look at an agency in action.

Cookbook sale
Using employee-donated recipes, publish and sell a cookbook.  Have employees bring in their dish with their recipes for a great potluck lunch!

Cookout or carnival
Have games, hot dogs and a dunking booth.  Pie-eating, balloon-toss and costume competitions are big hits.

Guess how many...
Employees pay to guess how many of an object (jelly beans, peanuts, etc.) are in a jar.  Closest guess wins a prize!

Jail & bait
Pledge money and issue warrants to put co-workers or bosses in jail.  Individuals must raise money and post bail to get out of jail.

Job switch
Raffle chances to switch jobs with upper-level management.

Kiss the pig
Employees contribute money to contestants.  Whoever has the most amount of money at the end of the contest must kiss the pig.

 

 

 

 

Late meeting fee
Employees who arrive late for meetings pay a nominal fee.

Office "Olympics"
Teams pay to participate in "Olympic" events such as trash can throws; balancing a cup on a serving tray while navigating an obstacle course; making a paper airplane and flying it the longest distance; making the longest paper clip chain in a minute; or stapling, folding and stuffing envelopes in one minute.   Have prizes or lunch for the winning team.

Pizza party
Throw pizza parties for each department that meets or exceeds its goal.

Snack attack cart
Sell donated bagels, donuts, orange juice, desserts, and sodas to employees.  Add a theme to the cart by playing music and dressing in costumes while roaming through the company.

Sports contest
Employees pay to participate in basketball, putting, hula hoop, or jump rope contests.  Can also turn this into a marathon where people pay to keep someone participating.

Talent show, lip sync or Karaoke contest
Watch your co-workers turn into talented signers once they walk on stage.

Taste of...
Let employees donate food and have a "Taste of (company)."

Ugly lamp month
Use any white elephant (an ugly lamp works great) and offer the opportunity to purchase points to move the item to someone's work space or keep it out of your area.  Calculate and move daily, monthly, etc.  Wherever it ends up at the end of the the time period, it must stay for one month or until the next campaign.

Ugly tie or clothing day
Pay to have your boss wear the ugly clothing or your choice.  Hot pink sports coats and tacky ties are always popular!

Valet parking
Have management park employees' cars and retrieve them at the end of the day.

Whipped cream sponge throwing
Instead of throuwoing pies, use a sponge with whipped cream on it.  Get management to participate and let employees buy chances.

"Who knows the nose?" contest
Take a side picture of employees' noses and let people guess for a small fee.
