Donor Designations Information

United Way of Clinton County accepts donor designations to member agencies and other United Ways.

Designations are applied toward the total amount of support reommended by our volunteer Finance Committee based on the allocation process.  However, all designations will be honored, even if the total exceds the amount orignially allocated.

If you work in Clinton county, and do not wish to support us, you can still participate in payroll deduction and designate your contribution to be sent to the United Way of your choice (less administration fees).

Because administrative expense is involved, and pledge loss must be considered, only donor designations to other United Ways of $20.00 or more are honored.

The Designaton Program exists as a service to United Way contributors.  The full cost of implementing and administering the designation program is to be recovered through a processing charge as a percentage of the designated amount.  The rate used is 10%.   The processing charge does not allow for pledge loss.  Designated organizations will receive these monies net of the current operation shrinkage rate.  The rate used is 5%.   Payment to other United Ways will be remitted after collection of that campaign pledge year.

United Way of Clinton County will not honor designations to non-member agencies, beginning with campaign 2000 (Fall of 1999) because we cannot ensure accountability.
