United Way announces Campaign Chairmen

Philip E. Warner has been named Honorary Chair for the 2004 United Way campaign that will kick off September 20, 2003.  Mr. Warner, Superintendent of Wilmington City Schools, resides with his wife Sandy in Wilmington and is no stranger to volunteer service.  He has chaired United Way campaigns in other communities and is currently serving with the following boards: YMCA, Clinton County Child and Family First and the Wilmington Noon Rotary Club Board of Directors.  In addition Phil serves on several state education committees and is a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church.  The strength of a community rests in the willingness of its citizens to be actively involved for the betterment of the entire community so it is for this reason Phil Warner is excited about serving in the honorary Chair for the 2004 United Way Campaign.

Jason Pugh, Pugh Landscaping, will again be Campaign Chairman.   Jason has been a strong volunteer, not only for UW, but for Big Brothers and Sisters, Rotaract and other service organizations in the area.  He is a Clinton County resident that truly gives to his community!  United Way of Clinton County is assisting with over $220,000.00 of funding for 38 programs in 30 agencies this year for Clinton County.  Giving to United Way of Clinton County really means giving to yourself by investing in the future for your family and your neighbors.   You have the power to make a difference by helping volunteer non-profit organizations provide everything from food and shelter to disaster relief, reading skills and daycare.  And it goes to children, seniors, and just abut everyone in between, who are in need right here at home.  September 20, 2003 will be the date of our annual agency fair at the Wilmington Wal*Mart and your opportunity to come out and learn how your gifts are used by United Way programs.  Please watch your mail that week, for the annual mailing to your homes and businesses, and plan to join in supporting the fall campaign.   With your help, the annual goal can be reached and hopefully surpassed to meet even more needs for Clinton County residents.  If you are interested in assisting with the campaign in any way, please contact Barb Becker or Becky Jackson @ 383-4846 or email unitedwaycc@in-touch.net.  More information is also available for your review @ www.unitedway-clinton.org.
